So I Took A Break...

Ok, here we go.

As with most of you I'm sure, it's been a busy month. The end of the summer is always such a hectic time of year. It seems like every weekend from now until October is booked. It's great to have stuff to look forward to, but it's also annoying knowing that it'll be tough to squeeze in any new opportunities that present themselves. I mean, I must have been busy of late, look at the number of blog posts I've thrown on here recently... That's gotta change.

Where to begin?

I've used most of my free time lately playing sports (tennis with The Big D and soccer with J Osh and her indoor team as well as outdoors with the Washington Soccer Society), some video games (FIFA and Madden), riding my Harley and hanging out with my peoples (yes, my peoples). I must say, I've immensely enjoyed being in town the past month and a half. It's been nice getting into a routine and knowing that I'll be around, so I can actually make plans a week or two in advance. Not used to that whole thing.

This past Saturday was spent on the lovely but bug and horse infested Assateague Island. Myself, the all too often blogged about Mr. S-Z and 3 other coworkers/friends headed out to Assateague to relax, fish, drink, eat and camp out. Even though the fish refused to cooperate, the day was great. Couldn't have asked for better weather. It was in the high 80's with an amazing light breeze coming off the ocean from the east.

The setup. Think we had 6 or 7 lines out there, 2 baited for shark, the others for all those other little ocean dwellers.

Chillin and grillin... you know our steeze.

Cooked out over a fire on the beach until about 11, then headed back to the campsite on the bay side of the island. If I'm wearing that hat, you know I'm in the middle of a great sit. It treated me good in Wyoming, and it treated me good in Assateague. Great sits are great.

God only knows what thoughts are running through his head.

Good times.

So I passed out in my car back at the campsite only to wake up to 5 or 6 of those little wild horses tearing apart our trash bags and trying to drink our floaters at 6 in the morning. In a drunken stupor, I made a sorry attempt at shooing them out of our site, then proceeded to pass back out for a few more hours. For being 'wild' horses, they weren't too wild. Had I been brave/dumb/drunk enough, I could have easily jumped on the back of one, and ridden off into the sunset. A heavy fine and possible jail time would have ensued, but to say I tamed a wild horse, might make it all worth it.

Now I've got my soccer to look forward to. Dunder Mifflin (or Dander Mufflin as the sportsplex calls us) is now 2-1 in the Rockville Sportsplex division 3 coed league. We have another game coming up Tuesday, and I'm looking forward to it. Arguably the best 50 minutes of my week. Well, 25 minutes... I play goalie for half the game, so that's ok, but not nearly as fun as being in the field. Hopefully we can dominate some chumps and improve to 3-1.

Until next post... which I promise will be sooner than later... have a good one.
